The recent refurbishment of the Bournemouth
International Centre sees the first UK installation
of ASMs new D8++ chain hoist, winner of the
"Plasa Innovation Award" for 2005. D8++ units
are virtually silent, have no brakes or clutch
mechanisms, don't need expensive compliant
control systems and can be rigged either motor
"up" or "down".
Hall Stage installed 20 of the 1000kg units, along
with a lot of quality truss and some Metreel inertia
cable feeders for the house lighting rig. With a combined
lifting capacity of 18 tonnes, the venue should have plenty
of use for the new grid in the coming year
- and think of all that saved safety rigging time...!
